How You Can Help

The On Line Library is a free service to the blind. But it is not free to run! We do not receive statutory grants or Government support - instead, we rely on the generosity of individuals and charitable Trusts. It costs about £50 to purchase, scan, proof-read, catalogue, store and distribute the average fiction title - a vast saving over traditional recording or Braille.

Book Donations

We need new books not listed in our Library. There are about 100,000 new titles produced each year and we are unable to purchase them all. If you can send a new title in to us to place in the Library then many can benefit. If you are able to provide the text digitally as well as the book then this would save time and make the book available quicker. However, please email us first as copying books without a license is illegal.

Financial Donations

There are many ways to assist the library financially. Most obviously through a simple donation, but there are longer term options such as ‘payroll giving’ or bequests. (We will post more information on these latter options in the near future).
