Books For All
A Partnership Project
The Seeing Ear and CALL, University of Edinburgh, have joined forces to create Books For All, a pilot project to provide school-books in alternative formats for print-disabled children. Initially within a Scottish educational context, the mechanisms and infrastructure are applicable throughout the UK so everyone can benefit from Books For All.
What will be provided?
* A place for teachers to share e-schoolbooks.
* Some key resources in appropriate formats.
* Advice on "best practice" as published notes.
* On-line conversion between formats.

If you want to see the end of ad-hoc photocopying, begging for files on vi-forum, re-inventing the Braille wheel - this is the project for you! Over the next academic year we shall be altering this website as specified by a User Panel of teachers and allowing upload of e-schoolbooks for all to share. Your input is welcomed - please get in touch!
